A Flaming Sight!

Day 9: 11/29/2021

After a much needed good night of sleep, we are ready to explore the new city and surrounding area. Well, almost ready. We had to do our first load of laundry and a run to Wal-Mart for some supplies. After our errands were finally done, we met up with Mason and he showed us the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Reservoir.

We weren't very familiar with the Flaming Gorge and its site, but were absolutely stunned by its beauty. We ventured around Ashley National Forest in Utah (our 4th state!) driving through valleys and seeking out mountain lakes. This evening was certainly a very pleasant spontaneous trip. The afternoon was filled with pictures of the stunning landscape. Its really too bad that the sun is setting so early. Also, if not for our plans to be in Seattle, by the end of the week, we would have certainly stayed in this area longer. Definitely a stop to see again later in our journey!

It got dark quickly and was time to get back to Rock Springs. Mason decided to spoil us with a ribeye steak and shrimp on the grill for dinner. It was delicious and we could not have thanked him enough! We spent the rest of the evening watching Monday Night Football and relaxing.
