Hiking to new Heights
Day 6: 11/26/2021
Today was full of adventure. We quickly got ready to go on a 7 mile hike on the Black Elk Peak trail. The hike was definitely not as easy as yesterday, and there were plenty of breaks taken. It was all worth it because of the view we got at Harney Peak, which we learned is the highest peak between the Rocky Mountains the Pyrenees of France!

After the trek down, which went a lot faster, we recouped by driving 40 minutes to see Mt. Rushmore. Adam had already seen it before, but it was my first time. To be honest, in my mind it was a lot bigger, but it was still a site that had to be seen. We decided as we were leaving Mt. Rushmore that we wanted to go to Crazy Horse memorial. We showed up and saw it was going to be $24 to enter with only 25 minutes left before they closed. So we said we would be back another day and turned around. We did get to see the face of Crazy Horse and called it good enough.

After a long day, we made a big bowl of pasta and had left over mashed potatoes. It is another early night because we are exhausted! Going to the Badlands National Park tomorrow!
